Cody Cash
Shackleford County Jail, Albany, Texas
My name is Cody Cash. I was incarcerated in Shackleford County Jail on October 13th, 2015 and am still being held. I was taken in for a violation of parole stemming from charges which had already been dropped at the time of my arrest. My parents have been trying unsuccessfully to get parole to release me. Two of my revocation hearings have been cancelled so far and I am waiting on the third, which will be on November 10th.
When I was arrested they sprayed me with pepper spray -- I thought I would go blind in one eye. They kept me in isolation, with human waste and vomit in my cell. I was not given medication I needed for a problem with fluid behind my ears for two weeks.
When the jailer handcuffed me, they broke my hand. I was denied medical care at first, and was not given an X-ray for a week. I was given a brace for my hand 15 days after they broke it. Three other inmates and a guard who witnessed the assault say they will testify but the sheriff told us that to see the video of the incident, we need a subpoena.
It seems like because I am in jail, the people here can do whatever they want to me.
